Alchemy is looking to hire an HR Generalist to help grow the HR function at Alchemy (currently a team of 1!). The person in this role will report to and support the People Ops Manager and assist with various HR duties. This is a great opportunity to learn and grow in an HR role partnering with leaders throughout the company. The right candidate will be willing to roll up their sleeves and handle all tasks, big and small!

What you'll be doing:

  • Onboarding and offboarding: handle all onboarding requests for new hires as well as offboarding for departing employees.
  • Benefits administration: assist the Director of HR with open enrollment and employee inquiries.
  • Leave administration: administer FLMA, PFL, parental leave, etc.
  • Performance management: assist with the planning for performance management cycles.
  • Payroll: assist when needed and act as a backup for payroll processing.
  • Compliance: proactive approach to staying up to date on HR processes and multi-state compliance items.
  • Immigration: Manage all immigration issues (visa and green card sponsorship, visa requests, etc.)
  • Maintain Org charts in real time.
  • Assist with various HR projects as needed.
  • Employee relations: help foster a positive work environment. Able to address employee concerns appropriately.

Able to work out of our SF office 3 days per week.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in HR; bachelor’s degree in HR or HR certification a huge plus
  • Meaningful 3+ years in an HR support role at a start-up or fast-growing company
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Supremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Able to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Exceptional project management skills; ability to drive projects from conception to completion.
  • Ability to independently prioritize workload; demonstrates initiative and manages multiple, competing priorities with attention to detail.
  • Capable of balancing both the strategic and operational; can flex between a strategic approach and effective delivery and execution
  • Proficiency in Mac and Google applications especially with Sheets, Slides, and Docs
  • Has strong business and HR acumen; demonstration of consulting and problem diagnosis skills
